Classroom management

In order to control students behavoiur, I use this program that helps motivate students to achieve positive points. It is called Class Dojo.

When a studetns wants to go to the toilet, they must ask the teacher " May/Can I go to the toilet/bathroom, please? Then, they must the toilet class sign to BUSY and return it to green FREE when they come back.

For controlling second grade discipline, I made this behaviour chart. Each student has a personalised peg.
At the beginning of each day, each student places their peg in the "READY TO LEARN" section. Depending on their behaviour, involvement,... their peg goes up or down.

A visit from the Three Wise Men!!!!!!!!

Today has been a very special day!! The Three Wise men have visited our school!!

We have written a letter to them in which we asked for special gifts because we have been well behaved throughout the year!!!

We delivered our letters to the Three Wise Men when they visited.

After that we drew a picture of their visit, so that we could remember this special occassion.

Show and tell!

Every Friday we do an activity which is called  SHOW AND TELL.

Some students bring an object and explain why  it is special for them. Other students tell us something interesting that has happened in their life.

These are some examples (I will add more along the school year):

Star of the week!!

At the beginning of every week I choose a student to be the STAR OF THE WEEK.

I take into account how he/she behaves in class, their attitude, the participation and how he/she works.

I place a photo of the student on the main classroom door and I write a comment explaining why he/she is star of the week.

The star of the week recieves a special present.

A surprise from Santa Claus!!

I woke up one morning to find Santa had left me a SURPRISE for 1ºA.
Santa Claus left us a GIANT SNAKE. Her name is Amy!

I brought the snake into schoolfor the first grade studentswith a Christmas tree.  We assembled the tree together and began to decorate. Each students drew a special picture which we then attached to the tree with a peg.

Marta brought a very beautiful star she made in her house for the top of the tree.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING! We are so excited!

Second grade CHRISTMAS TREE!

As Christmas approaches, we have started to decorate the classroom. Together we began to construct a 3D Christmas tree.
We used carboard to make the body of the tree. Then, each student drew their handprints and coloured them green with glitter. After cuttiing them out we attached them to the tree as the leaves. At the base of the tree, we put a cardboard box which we will decorate with presents.

Do you like it?? IT'S LOVELY!!!
